Job summary

A technology services provider is seeking a Data Center Technician II to assist with hardware installations and maintain data center operations. Responsibilities include installation of devices, documenting processes, and ensuring proper cable management. The ideal candidate has 2 to 5 years of experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under changing priorities. This role offers a salary range of $65,000–$70,000 annually on a contract basis.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training.
• Certifications in Data Center technologies are desired.
• Hands-on experience in electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of hardware into racks.
• Document processes and server installations.
• Confirm and label devices, rack and cables.

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Ability to respond to any On-Call request within 1 hour

Effectively utilize the ticket management systems

Ability to cable systems correctly based on ticket requirements and SOP standards

Experience with CAT5e and CAT6 copper cable

Ability to adapt to changing priorities

Working knowledge of computer hardware

Understanding of networking components

Knowledge of copper and fiber testers

Understanding of Data Center best practices

Experience with cable management

Some knowledge of Data-Center infrastructures

Able to operate material handling equipment

Must provide own transportation

Education

High school diploma or GED
