Job summary

Equinix is seeking a hands-on operations professional to support data center activities, installations, cross-connects, testing, and customer-facing tasks. You will work within a 24/7 environment to ensure asset accuracy and smooth execution of deployments.

Responsibilities span ranging from rack and stack tickets to collaboration with vendors and internal teams, with a focus on reliability, documentation, and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a high school diploma and 2-4 years of equivalent work experience.
• A natural curiosity and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in a critical facility where failure is not an option.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to protocols and processes in place.
• Strong system-level mechanical or electrical proficiency.
• You are capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and are agile in manual dexterity (climb, stoop, et.) with or without accommodation.
• 24/7 operation—flexibility to work any assigned shift, off-schedule, fill in for coworkers and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and handle moderately difficult requests within commitment times.
• Support cross-functional teams to resolve customer tickets.
• Ensure reporting is complete and accurate; assist with ad-hoc requests.
• Provide input and recommendations to improve processes.
• Maintain detailed written records of all work activity.
• Update local asset databases and related systems.
• Handle moderately difficult rack and stack tickets and read installation plans.
• Assist with installing components such as cable trays, cabinets, and cable management.
• Recognize capacity concerns for infrastructure expansions and cabling.
• Perform quality checks on cross-connects and on-site tickets.
