Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States (MD/VA) seeks a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to monitor and maintain critical infrastructure in our 24/7 data centers.

You will work with teams to ensure reliability, safety, and uptime while following established practices and change management. You will perform rack installs, troubleshoot facility events, manage BMS/EPMS, and coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or fire suppression systems.
• Ability to work on-site in data centers and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to rotate shifts and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS; troubleshoot facility and rack-level events.
• Perform rack installs/decommissions within SLAs; execute PM and repairs.
• Support change management with technical documentation.
• On-site coordination with contractors and vendors; ensure safety compliance.
• Manage work requests and drive projects from conception to completion.
