Job summary

Rackspace Technology in Buffalo, NY is seeking a First Shift Data Center Operations Technician IV to own IT infrastructure within the data center, ensuring customer environments remain secure, operational and meet 99.999% uptime. You will monitor systems, prioritize tickets and perform hardware/OS tasks across Windows Server, Linux and VMware ESX environments.

This on-site, full-time role involves hands-on hardware installation, cabling, network device setup, and completing maintenance requests

Qualifications

• Experience with IT hardware troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux or VMware ESX
• Ability to perform basic OS installs and PXE

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and prioritizing an internal ticketing system to provide customer support.
• Provide hardware and OS troubleshooting, storage upgrades, RAID configuration changes.
• Support for servers running Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Linux or VMware ESX.
• Perform OS/network configuration tasks including IP setup and basic troubleshooting.
• Install or remove network cabling and hardware like switches, firewalls and load balancers.
