Job summary

Truist is seeking a Group Leader to manage operational governance and reliability for multiple data centers nationwide. You will lead geographically dispersed teams and third-party vendors to maintain 100% uptime.

You will partner with PM, delivery, and engineering teams to onboard new sites and oversee critical infrastructure projects. Strong leadership, budgeting, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or equivalent education and training.
• 5 years of related work experience including supervisory experience in a dedicated data center environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of data center mechanical and electrical systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety laws and policies.
• Working knowledge of information technology infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership, communication, planning, analytical, presentation, and process improvement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think and act clearly during emergency response situations.

Responsibilities

• Minimize risk across data center operations by using qualified operators and key vendors to ensure high availability of critical infrastructure.
• Define maintenance objectives and implement preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures.
• Direct activities of staff and contractors for HVAC, UPS, generators, life-safety, environmental, monitoring, electrical, and control systems.
• Monitor and report on operational activities, performance, risks, and recommendations related to building systems.
• Ensure adherence to change management controls and operating procedures.
• Provide training and oversight of staff and contractors in critical environments to prevent disruptions.
• Manage annual capital and expense budgets for long-term reliability and staff development.
• Collaborate with PM, delivery, engineering, and commissioning to support readiness and transition of new sites.
• Lead vendor governance and KPI/SLA management with Sourcing for 100% uptime goals.
• Lead multiple direct reports across locations with consistent practices and accountability.
• Establish governance, reporting, processes, and controls across the portfolio for efficiency and risk management.
• Develop and present technical, financial, risk, and performance data to leadership to guide decisions.
