Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to ensure adherence to procedures and industry best practices. You will perform daily checks, manage third parties, and maintain up-to-date records in the data center management tool and Service Now.

The role involves capacity management for cables and hardware, installation and recovery of network, server and storage equipment, and ensuring all records reflect current deployment status and location.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Data Center environments.
• Pro-active and flexible with ability to work in a team or individually.
• Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
• Experience with hardware installation standards and copper/fiber cabling knowledge.
• Familiarity with Change Control, Incident Management & Problem Management processes.

Responsibilities

• Install, relocate and recover Network, Server and Storage hardware to standards.
• Repair hardware to major component level across vendor equipment.
• Follow Data Center work processes and procedures.
• Manage goods in/out for dedicated storage facility and maintain asset records.
• Process RMAs for damaged/failed hardware and update records.
• Carry out monthly audits of stored items and report anomalies.
• Update asset records with location and status after changes.
• Perform daily housekeeping checks of data halls and document findings.
• Control Data Center stocks and report inventory status.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover and support SLA/OLA requirements.
