Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. in Illinois seeks a Data Center Operations Engineer to ensure adherence to Data Center Procedures and industry best practices. You will execute daily checks, manage asset records, and support capacity management for cables and hardware.

You will also handle incident/workflow tasks, follow Change Control rules, and coordinate with 3rd party contractors to maintain service levels and documentation.

Qualifications

• The candidate has 3+ years’ experience in Data Center environments.
• Experience with Change Control, Incident Management & Problem Management (ITIL).
• Knowledge of copper and fibre cabling installations and standards.
• Hands-on familiarity with server/network hardware (Juniper/HP).
• Pro-active, flexible, and able to work autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Installation, relocation and recovery of network, server and storage hardware to manufacturer standards.
• Repair hardware to component level across vendor equipment.
• Follow Data Center work processes and procedures.
• Manage goods in/out for dedicated storage and maintain asset records.
• Process RMAs for damaged/failed hardware and perform monthly audits.
• Update asset locations and statuses after installations or moves.
• Carry out daily housekeeping checks of data halls and record findings.
• Control stock levels and report on inventory discrepancies.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover to support SLAs and OLAs.
