Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) is seeking a Senior Data Center Operations Engineer to ensure adherence to Data Center procedures and industry best practices. The role includes advising Operations Engineers, on-site management of colocation clients, and maintaining security and change-control documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years in Data Center environments; proactive and flexible.
• Experience with hardware installation standards and copper/fibre cabling.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes: Change Control, Incident Management, Problem Management.

Responsibilities

• Support Data Center Engineers and act as escalation point for the Team.
• Maintain access control lists and check access reports daily.
• Maintain the ‘process and procedure’ documentation relating to all aspects of data Center operations.
• Ensure up to date shift logs are kept at all times.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible to maintain SLAs.
• Installation, relocation and recovery of Network, Server and Storage hardware to manufacturer standards.
• Repair hardware to major component level across vendor equipment.
• Execute all work per Data Center procedures.
• Manage goods in/out; maintain full asset records and availability lists.
• Update asset records, track location and status of assets.
• Daily checks to ensure security and adherence to access policies; Data Center cleanliness.
• Record details of hardware installations/moves/changes accurately.
• Control Data Center stocks and report on inventory.
• Regularly audit Data Center records.
• Produce daily and monthly activity reports.
