Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to support large-scale data center environments in Sumner, WA. You will install, troubleshoot, and repair server and network hardware, with up to 25% travel and 24/7 coverage as needed.

Responsibilities include L2/L3 hardware maintenance, cables, RMA management, and cross-team collaboration. Requires 1–2+ years in hardware/networking and Linux proficiency; physical duties up to 40 lbs; on-site role with shifts 8/10/12 hours.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years in computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in Linux OS and CLI navigation.
• Experience with enterprise/service provider network hardware.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deinstall enterprise servers and network devices.
• Troubleshoot cabling, powering up/down, and handoff to internal teams.
• Perform hardware break/fix; replace FRUs and other components.
• Troubleshoot network/link/device/configuration issues on-site.
• Test and trace fiber/copper cables; manage patch panels.
• Use automation tools to configure and repair equipment.
• Schedule maintenance with minimal production impact.
• Manage RMA process and parts tracking.
• Provide onsite support and liaison for remote teams.
• Document work, SOPs, and participate in root-cause analysis.
