Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to support large-scale data center environments, responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of server and network hardware. Role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams and on-call rotation to ensure reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of hardware, networking, and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong background in server and network hardware, including routing and switching.
• Experience with enterprise/service provider hardware (Juniper, Cisco, Arista).
• Proficiency in Linux OS, CLI navigation, and standard troubleshooting tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deinstall enterprise servers and network devices.
• Troubleshoot cabling, powering up/down, and handoff to internal teams.
• Perform hardware break/fix and replace FRUs, optics, line cards, and chassis.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network link, device, and configuration issues on-site.
• Test, clean, and troubleshoot cables; trace cables through patch panels.
• Use internal automation tools to configure, monitor, and repair equipment.
• Schedule and perform maintenance and upgrades with minimal disruption.
• Manage RMA processes, coordinating replacements and tracking parts.
• Provide onsite network support and liaise with remote teams.
