Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to support large-scale data center environments. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing server and network hardware to ensure reliability and performance.

24/7 shifts may be required, with up to 25% travel, and collaboration across cross-functional teams. The position emphasizes adherence to SOPs, on-call support, and ongoing training to stay current with new technologies.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years in computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Strong hardware background including routing and switching technologies.
• Experience with enterprise/service provider network hardware (Juniper, Cisco, Arista).
• Proficiency in Linux OS, CLI navigation, and standard troubleshooting tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deinstall enterprise servers and network devices.
• Troubleshoot cabling, powering, and handoff to internal teams.
• Perform hardware break/fix with FRUs, optics, and line cards.
• Troubleshoot hardware, network link, device, configuration issues on-site.
• Test and troubleshoot fiber/copper cables and patch panels.
• Use automation tools to configure, monitor, repair network equipment.
• Schedule maintenance and upgrades minimizing production impact.
• Manage RMA processes and vendor coordination for replacements.
• Provide onsite network support and liaison for remote teams.
• Collaborate with facilities, cabling, server, and engineering teams.
• Document work, SOPs, and participate in root-cause analysis.
