Job summary

Daikin Applied, the world’s largest HVAC company, is seeking a National Accounts Director to lead the Data Centers vertical market as part of the National Accounts team. Remote work with 50% travel, responsible for strategy, growth, and profitability.

Responsibilities include market analysis, strategic planning, customer planning/execution, and stakeholder coordination across supply chain, manufacturing, and product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, scientific, or engineering field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in sales or business development, including 6+ years of people leadership.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing sales teams through rapid growth in the data center sector.
• Ability to develop executive-level relationships with C-suite leaders across data center operators and hyperscalers.
• 5+ years of HVAC sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Market Analysis: assess market intelligence, segmentation, trends, growth potential, and Daikin's position vs competitors.
• Strategic Planning: develop and drive business strategy for the Data Center vertical, with updates to VP and leadership; gather field/customer feedback.
• Key Customer Planning & Execution: elevate Data Center team professionalism, scale complex solutions with field, manufacturing, and Rep leadership.
• Stakeholder Coordination: lead vertical market strategy implementation with internal customers (supply chain, manufacturing, service ops, product dev).
• Marketing: collaborate with marketing on materials, trade shows, association visibility, and speaker/publishing opportunities.
• Team Management: lead Data Center experts, grow pipeline, hire/train, and manage performance.
