Job summary

Gray Construction seeks an experienced MEP Site Manager to lead field operations for hyperscale data center projects. You will coordinate the installation and commissioning of critical mechanical and electrical systems, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality on site.

You will work with the Field Operations team to meet project milestones, develop scopes of work, and support the MEP Project Manager across multiple sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum 15 years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of industrial construction experience, with data center or mission‑critical experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex data centerprojects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including power distribution, critical cooling infrastructure, commissioning processes, and equipment installation.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and the ability to effectively lead large field teams.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong people management skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets and smartphones.
• Experience working with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar construction technology is a plus.
• Must possess a strong work ethic and be an energetic, self‑motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
• Must posses the ability to think for his/herself and be able to manage without direction having to be given.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations focused on the successful installation, coordination, and execution of critical MEP systems that power and support mission‑critical environments.
• Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project Manager.
• Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule. Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate.
• Coordinate and manage on‑site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Serve as on‑site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project.
