Aspiring MEP Site Manager for Hyperscale Data Centers

Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant MEP Site Manager for our Field Operations Team to help build hyperscale data centers. This field/project-based role supports planning, procurement, and coordination across mechanical, electrical, and safety disciplines on nationwide projects.

You will assist in schedules, cost tracking, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring safety and quality on site, contributing to Gray’s mission-critical delivery and scalable growth in North America.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and a minimum five years related experience and/or training.
• 3+ years of industrial construction experience, with data center or mission-critical experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex data center projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including power distribution, critical cooling infrastructure, commissioning processes, and equipment installation.
• Understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and the ability to effectively lead large field teams.
• Experience working with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar construction technology is a plus
• Must possess basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and e-mail applications.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to assist planning procedures for construction on the basis of start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
• Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project/Site Manager.
• Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule. Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-startup to completion.
• Schedule work, including subcontractors.
• Determine materials, equipment and tools needed.
• Secure appropriate supply sources.
• Set up and close out construction site.
• Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project and participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program.
