Job summary

Zones, LLC in Whitsett, NC is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support enterprise server hardware in data center environments. This role requires hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting across customer and company data centers.

You will diagnose hardware failures, perform upgrades, and coordinate with NOC and OEM teams, while documenting activities in our ticketing system. A strong customer service orientation and the ability to work independently in

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on enterprise server hardware in data center environments.
Associate degree in IT, CS, Electronics or equivalent.
Experience with Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
Familiarity with ticketing and asset management systems.
Ability to read technical documentation and installation procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and deploy enterprise server hardware in data center environments.
Perform break-fix maintenance and hardware replacement for servers, storage devices, and supporting infrastructure.
Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures including GPUs, CPUs, memory, motherboards, RAID controllers, and power supplies.
Coordinate with NOC, System Administrators, Data Center Operations teams, and OEM support organizations.
Document all service activities, troubleshooting steps, repairs, and asset updates within ticketing systems.
Respond to scheduled maintenance activities and emergency service requests within established SLAs.
Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and equipment lifecycle status.
Participate in on-call support rotations and after-hours maintenance windows as required.
