Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer in the United States to join the design team. You will set up and manage Revit BIM models for electrical systems, coordinating with other discipline leads to produce fully coordinated 3D models and 2D drawings.

You should have at least 3 years of BIM design experience and strong knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, with a solid understanding of codes, standards, and design specifications.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of codes and standards shaping design decisions.
• Understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections between devices.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours for design and modeling efforts from mark-ups/direction.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage Revit BIM models for electrical design.
• Create 2D construction drawings and ensure coordination across disciplines.
• Collaborate with discipline leads, architects, and engineers to deliver constructible deliverables including clash-free models.
