Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to join our design team. You will set up and manage Revit BIM models, coordinate with other discipline leads, and produce coordinated 3D models and 2D drawings across electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of BIM design experience, strong Revit/AutoCAD skills, and a solid understanding of codes and standards. We offer a collaborative environment with hybrid work options and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage Revit BIM models.
• Coordinate with discipline leads and team members.
• Create and manage content toward fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines.
• Produce 2D construction drawings.
• Work with engineers, architects, and designers on Jacobs design team.
