Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer in the United States. You will set up and manage Revit BIM models, coordinate across disciplines, and produce 2D drawings while aligning with Jacobs standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage Revit BIM models across disciplines in coordination with BIM leads and team members.
• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L).
• Produce 2D construction drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers on Jacobs projects.
• Follow Jacobs design methods and maintain BIM standards.
