Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United States is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for a major hyperscale data center construction project. The role combines client-facing leadership with hands-on estimating and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it is advantageous.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in cost management within construction.
• Data center, mission-critical or large-scale infrastructure project experience preferred.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large projects with medium-high complexity.
• Knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
• Review and participate with design services and GC on cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and ensure contractor data accuracy.
• Prepare cost estimate updates with project stakeholders.
• Coordinate all sources of cost information from vendors and designers.
• Lead cost checks, valuations and post-contract variances.
• Develop cost plans through design phases and milestones.
• Support design optioneering and value engineering exercises.
• Review pricing and negotiate with contractors to drive fair prices.
