Job summary

Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management on a major hyperscale data center project near Joliet, Illinois. The role is hybrid with onsite presence based on project phase and client needs.

You will estimate, cost-plan, review estimates with design teams and contractors, and manage cost data across subs and vendors to support value engineering and successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or related field.
• RICS accreditation is advantageous or being pursued.
• 5–7 years of relevant cost management experience in the construction industry.
• Data center, mission-critical or large-scale infra projects experience preferred.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders through the construction lifecycle.
• Develop cost plans and present final cost plans.
• Review cost estimates with design teams and GC.
• Reconcile changes and ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare cost estimate updates and executive summaries.
• Coordinate cost information from subs, A/Es, and vendors.
• Lead value engineering and design optioning discussions.
• Manage cost checks, valuations, post-contract variances and change control.
• Produce monthly cost reports and finalize accounts.
• Mentor talent and drive leadership in cost management.
