Job summary

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Controls Engineer to troubleshoot, manage projects and maintain BMS/EPMS in AWS data centers. You will collaborate with operations, design teams and vendors to ensure reliable electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, CO&O, on-call coverage, procurement support and ongoing optimization of control sequences and interfaces. Strong communication and vendor management are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and SOPs
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent + 5 years relevant controls experience, OR 10 years without degree
• 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments
• 4+ years of general project or vendor management experience related to construction and project execution

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis for BMS and EPMS issues in AWS data centers
• Train and assist internal customers with BMS/EPMS design, configuration, validation, installation and operation
• Provide technical assistance and support during the data center lifecycle
• Review maintenance items and drive resolutions
• Develop project scope, schedule, budget and LOE for BMS/EPMS projects
• Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS/EPMS improvements
• Engage in procurement activities (RFPs, vendor reviews, PO issuance)
• Participate in AWS global on-call for BMS/EPMS support
• Attend project meetings and report status to leadership
• Support commissioning activities and SOO feedback to design
• Develop/modify controls logic programming and GUIs
• Manage stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations
• Financially manage BMS/EPMS service contracts
• Visit in-operation data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendor work
