Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a data center controls engineer to troubleshoot, manage BMS and EPMS, and lead projects across AWS data centers. You will coordinate with operations, vendors and customers, develop scopes, schedules and budgets, and help implement controls and data center infrastructure improvements.

Required experience includes 5+ years in industrial controls, strong knowledge of electrical diagrams, and proficiency in project/vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent plus 5 years of controls experience, OR 10 years of controls experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, water, etc.).
• 4+ years of general project or vendor management experience (RFPs, bids, change orders, QCs, and RFIs) for construction and project execution.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of engineering documentation and electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis for BMS and EPMS issues in AWS data centers.
• Train and assist internal customers with design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of BMS and EPMS.
• Provide technical assistance and support to operations during life cycle of the data center.
• Review maintenance results and close out actions for BMS and EPMS.
• Develop project scope, schedule, budget and LOE for BMS/EPMS projects.
• Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS/EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers.
• Participate in procurement activities including RFQ/RFI, vendor reviews, and PO issuance.
• Occasionally visit data centers to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work.
