Job summary

Amazon is seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and operation of BMS and EPMS in AWS data centers. You will troubleshoot, manage projects, and coordinate with operations and vendors to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient power and environmental monitoring.

You will work on building management and electrical power monitoring systems, develop SCADA-like controls logic, and drive improvements across multiple data center sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with BMS and EPMS systems.
• Provide technical assistance and support to operations during life cycle of the data center.
• Review results and actions from quarterly maintenances for BMS and EPMS and resolve items.
• Develop BMS & EPMS project scope, schedule, budget, and LOE for customer requests.
• Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers.
• Assist in procurement activities including RFQ/RFPs and purchase orders issuance.
• Participate in AWS global on-call schedule to provide BMS/EPMS support.
• Attend project meetings and report status to Controls and stakeholders.
• Support commissioning activities in data centers.
• Review, implement, and iterate on the SOO and provide feedback to design team.
• Develop and modify controls logic programming and GUIs.
• Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations.
• Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts.
• Frequent visits to in-operation data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendor work.
