Job summary

SimVentions is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Virginia Beach, on-site daily. The role supports Navy Reserve data systems and emphasizes data management, analytics, and governance to ensure a secure, trustworthy data ecosystem.

Applicants must hold an active Secret Clearance and have 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and related data tools. The position offers competitive compensation and benefits within a military-first environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience with Python, PySpark, GitLab, Databricks and/or Jupyter Notebook, Secure File Gateway (SFG), and Magic.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with software coding in Java Script and SQL.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Navy Reserve data systems and Advana/Jupyter.
• At least 6 months of experience in managing or modifying Alchemy pipeline code.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, compile, and implement industry standards and methodologies for expanding and maintaining an authoritative data ecosystem for the Navy Reserves.
• Data management of enterprise data pipelines, architectures, observability, and governance.
• Automate data feeds from multiple systems into a consolidated data environment.
• Perform capability gap analysis and identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.
• Compile and implement integration strategies to expand and optimize an interoperable data ecosystem across existing legacy systems.
