Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Sacramento is seeking a UHP Caseworker to provide trauma-informed services to refugees and qualified immigrants, supporting positive resettlement and self-sufficiency outcomes.

You will work closely with clients, colleagues, and external partners to develop service plans, access public benefits, coordinate housing, medical care, ESL/school enrollment, and transportation, while maintaining documentation and reporting required by the program.

Qualifications

• Associate or BA degree with emphasis in Social Work or related field, or 1+ years of experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in human services preferred.
• Experience with refugee/immigrant populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure essentials and orientation.
• Provide client-centered case management including benefits access, housing, health services, school/ESL enrollment, referrals, and transportation/interpretation bookings.
• Conduct intake, develop self-sufficiency plans, and provide support through direct services and advocacy.
• Assess progress and ensure resources are utilized to meet goals.
• Document interactions in databases and assist with tracking/reporting.
