Job summary

International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Sacramento, CA seeks a Caseworker (Ukrainian or Russian speaking) to provide trauma-informed services and support a positive resettlement. You will coordinate services, manage cases, and assist with benefits, housing, and health access.

The role requires English fluency and Ukrainian or Russian language skills, plus a BA/associates or related experience. Hybrid work, valid driver’s license, and office time in Sacramento are included.

Qualifications

• Associate or BA in Social Work, Migration Studies, Public Health, Refugee Studies, Development, Immigration Law or related field; or 1+ year of related experience.
• Experience with refugee and/or immigrant populations preferred.
• Strong relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking skills.
• Fluent in English; Ukrainian or Russian spoken by clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure housing, food, medical care, and transportation.
• Provide client-centered case management, including public benefits, housing, mental health, and school/ESL enrollment.
• Conduct intake, develop self-sufficiency plans, and document progress in records.
• Input client data in databases and assist with tracking/reporting as needed.
• Collaborate with coworkers and external partners; assist with transportation and interpretation as needed.
• May train and supervise volunteers; work across programs as required.
