Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods in Joliet, IL is hiring a Bike Technician to provide a differentiated customer experience by building and repairing bicycles and recommending products to meet shopper needs. You will work in the Bike Department, maintain presentation standards, and promote warranty programs and loyalty initiatives.

This role requires hands-on bike work, solid knowledge of bikes, the ability to stand and lift up to 35 lbs, and a customer-focused attitude to help athletes achieve their goals.

Qualifications

• Prior experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, push, pull and lift 15–35 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours).

Responsibilities

• Create a world-class customer experience by providing passionate customer service and selling through customer engagement, specifically in the Bike Department.
• Uphold company standards for merchandise presentation.
• Demonstrate ability to genuinely interact with customers to show passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment in their sport.
• Promote company programs including warranty sales, Scorecard, private-label credit cards, and other seasonal promotions.
• Achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
• Build and repair bikes in accordance with established procedures. Assist with assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage of the Bike Department to Company standards as directed.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all Company information.
• Take an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
