Job summary

Leidos in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer SME to protect our customers’ information systems and infrastructure. You will participate in design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls across the DevSecOps lifecycle, collaborating with ISSEs, ISSMs, software developers, and government stakeholders.

The role requires applying security engineering principles, auditing configurations, and staying current with threat intelligence to safeguard mission systems and ensure

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and managing SIEM tools such as Splunk or similar platforms.
• Experience with endpoint and network security technologies (IDS/IPS, HBSS/Trellix).
• Experience reviewing cybersecurity logs and supporting incident response plans.
• Experience with RMF/ATO processes and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience in DevSecOps environments and secure configurations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security controls and tools.
• Design, configure, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain security technologies such as firewalls and SIEMs.
• Support incident response efforts and remediation of breaches or malware infections.
• Audit systems for compliance with cybersecurity policies and baselines.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate security into DevSecOps pipelines.
• Monitor threat intelligence and enforce secure system configurations.
• Assist vulnerability management by reviewing scans and coordinating remediation.
