Job summary

The Cybersecurity Engineer SME at Leidos protects customer information systems, networks, and infrastructure from cyber threats. You will help design, implement, and maintain security controls that safeguard mission systems and ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity policies and standards.

You will collaborate with ISSEs, ISSMs, software developers, systems engineers, and government stakeholders across the DevSecOps lifecycle, perform a full spectrum of cybersecurity engineering

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and managing SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk).
• Experience with endpoint and network security technologies (IDS/IPS, HBSS/Trellix).
• Experience reviewing security event logs and supporting incident response and vulnerability programs.
• Experience with RMF/ATO processes and security documentation.
• Active cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CySA+, CEH, or GCIH.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security controls across enterprise systems and networks.
• Configure and maintain security technologies (firewalls, HBSS/Trellix, SIEM) and monitor with SIEM tools like Splunk Enterprise Security.
• Support incident response, remediation, and change management to maintain security compliance.
• Audit configurations against cybersecurity policies and secure baselines.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to integrate security into pipelines and architectures.
• Monitor advisories and threat intelligence to enforce secure configurations and compliance.
• Support vulnerability management by reviewing scans and coordinating remediation.
