Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer SME to protect customer information systems and support DevSecOps lifecycles. You will design, implement, and maintain security controls across enterprise networks and mission systems, working with ISSEs, ISSMs, developers, and government stakeholders.

The role emphasizes incident response, vulnerability management, risk posture, and compliance with cybersecurity standards and policies, including RMF/ATO processes.

Qualifications

• MS degree and 15+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years may substitute for degree.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• Experience implementing and managing SIEM tools (Splunk or similar).
• Experience with endpoint and network security tech (HBSS/Trellix, Carbon Black EDR, IDS/IPS).
• Experience reviewing logs, incident response, vulnerability management, and RMF/ATO processes.
• Experience with DevSecOps integration, risk assessments, and security audits.
• Professional cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CySA+, CEH, or GCIH.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security controls and tooling; identify opportunities to automate repeatable tasks.
• Design and maintain security technologies including firewalls, EDR, and SIEM; monitor with SIEM platforms to detect threats.
• Support investigation and remediation of cybersecurity incidents; participate in change management for compliance.
• Audit systems for adherence to cybersecurity policies and secure baselines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into DevSecOps pipelines.
• Monitor advisories and threat intelligence to enforce secure configurations and compliance.
• Support vulnerability management by reviewing scans and coordinating remediation.
