Job summary

Serco seeks a Cyber Systems Engineer for its Combat Air Force Distributed Mission Operations (CAF DMO) program in Hampton, VA. You will perform test, integration, and evaluation of simulation systems to support training operations for DoD customers worldwide, with collaboration across Langley AFB and Orlando teams.

Candidates must maintain/obtain a DoD Secret clearance (TS/SCI/SAP eligibility), hold a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, travel up to 10%, and use

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
• STEM bachelor’s degree with 5+ years engineering/test experience OR associate’s degree with 7+ years
• Experience with DoD customers in a technical role
• Familiarity with development/test of military training or operational systems
• Must obtain DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher within six months
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Support simulation system and application integration, evaluation, and interoperability testing for DMON and JSE training operations.
• Use industry-standard tools for simulation test and evaluation (Wireshark, CGFs, etc.).
• Analyze network and system performance (latency, bandwidth, jitter, occupancy).
• Develop and maintain test plans and procedures; document test activities.
• Draft comprehensive test reports from integration/test/evaluation tasks.
• Contribute to CONOPS and multiple COAs for deployment of simulation capabilities.
• Support requirements reviews, training ops, and basic system administration.
• Produce defined test procedures and test cases under senior guidance.
• Support program processes with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, X-Ray).
• Participate in peer reviews, test bed maintenance, and debugging.
• Write/maintain scripts and support applications (PowerShell, Cygwin, VB).
• Identify production/non-production issues and implement solutions.
