Job summary

Coalition, Inc. is seeking an Underwriter to drive profitable business from brokers while partnering with our Sales team.

You will underwrite and manage products across Coalition’s portfolio, serving as a trusted partner to brokers and clients, helping them understand how to protect their businesses with underwriting expertise and relationship-first approach. The role is remote and can be based anywhere in the Northeast, with a strong preference for New York City.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of underwriting experience, including cyber and tech E&O.
• Ability to analyze risks independently and make decisions within authority.
• Ability to explain decisions to brokers and clients with confidence.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills in a broker-distributed environment.
• Developing fluency in complex coverage structures and client-facing discussions.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal accounts within authority and guidelines.
• Build and deepen relationships with cyber specialists and brokers.
• Maintain underwriting files and internal tool usage per Coalition workflows.
• Participate in broker and client meetings with external presentations and strategy.
• Handle nuanced coverage, structure, and wording discussions with senior input as needed.
• Collaborate with Coalition’s security team on underwriting decisions and discussions.
• Provide feedback to improve underwriting guidelines, tools, and processes.
• Travel regularly for broker relationships, client meetings, and market development.
