Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services seeks a qualified CWS Case Manager to perform case management and concurrent planning in Adoptions, ensuring safety, permanency and well-being for children and families.

You will maintain records, collaborate with legal, attend CFT meetings, and complete CANS updates per policy, with on-call duties as assigned. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field is required; Master’s preferred for selected roles.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
• Bachelor’s in another field with 1 year related experience acceptable for some roles.
• Master’s degree may be preferred for certain positions, especially in Child Welfare.

Responsibilities

• Performs case management and concurrent planning in Child Welfare (Adoptions).
• Contacts with children and families to achieve permanency goals.
• Maintains case records per DSS policy and GPS Practice Model (CAPSS).
• Engages families and professionals; participates in CFT meetings and on-call duties.
• Collaborates with legal to promote timely permanency; adheres to court orders.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field

Bachelor's degree in any other field + 1 year related experience

Master's degree preferred for select positions
