Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a CWS Case Manager in Charleston to perform case management and concurrent planning within Adoptions. You will engage families, monitor safety and well-being, and coordinate with legal and external partners to promote timely permanency.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree (Social Work or related field) with experience; Master’s degree preferred. A valid driver’s license and field assignments are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
• Bachelor's Degree in any other field and one year experience in a related field.
• Selected positions may prefer a Master's Degree. Child Welfare experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs case management and concurrent planning in the Child Welfare area of Adoptions in accordance with DSS Policy, Mission and GPS Practice Model.
• Makes contact with children and families to achieve the permanency goal of adoption.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills to monitor safety, risk, and well-being.
• Performs on-call duties as assigned.
• Completes, reviews, and updates the CANS according to DSS Policy.
• Maintains case records and documentation in CAPSS system per policy.
