Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a skilled OR Nurse to deliver professional care in the operative setting. You will perform scrub and circulating duties, assist surgeons, and ensure patient safety before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms and instruments, assisting with hemostasis and suturing, monitoring patient condition, and coordinating care through the perioperative period. Eligible candidates hold a nursing diploma and an active Alabama RN license.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire date.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing procedures.
• Perform scrub functions: select and handle instruments and supplies used during procedures.
• Perform circulating functions: monitor patient, record, communicate condition, and manage overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
• Directly assist surgeon with tasks including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning; prepare rooms and instruments.
