Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama seeks a skilled perioperative nurse to deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will perform scrub and circulating duties, assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, and ensure rooms and equipment are prepared for use.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certification within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Perform scrub: select and handle instruments and supplies.
• Perform circulating duties: monitor patient condition and manage total nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
• Directly assist the surgeon with hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
