Job summary
UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated Operating Room RN to deliver professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will perform scrub and circulating roles, assist surgeons with hemostasis and suturing, and help position patients. Based at UAB St.
Vincent's East, this full-time role features a 6am-3pm schedule with rotating call. Requirements include an approved nursing diploma, Alabama RN licensure, BLS and ACLS within specified timeframes, and a commitment to patient
Qualifications
- Licensed practical requirements include BLS within 30 days of hire and ACLS within 180 days of hire.
- Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program and current professional licensure required.
- RN licensure in Alabama required before hire date.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for surgical patients.
- Perform scrub functions: instrument and supply handling during procedures.
- Perform circulating functions: monitor patient, document status, and manage overall nursing care during perioperative period.
- Assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms and instruments for use.
