Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader in the Lorain, OH area to lead a team across a span of care, driving engagement, coaching and performance management. You will direct Leads and Team Leaders, manage area operations and financials, and oversee scheduling, safety and process improvements to uphold Meijer’s culture.

You will identify top talent, facilitate career discussions, and ensure a strong, inclusive environment that delivers excellent service and results for customers and the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide guidance to team members.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decision making.
• Commitment to a safe, inclusive and high-performing work environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conduct candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Oversee area operations and financial results to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drive safety, compliance and store conditions; manage scheduling needs and forecasting.
• Guide Leads and Team Leaders with daily work and training needs.
