Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Ohio is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement and responsible operations across a span of care.

You will guide Leads and Team Leaders, coach staff, recognize performance, and ensure safety, scheduling, and customer service standards are met to maximize sales and efficiency. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 4+ years in retail or grocery, progressive leadership, and the ability to analyze financial data and translate insights into actionable

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
Progressive leadership experience preferred.
A passion to provide industry leading service.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership pipelines.
Leads candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
Oversees area operations and financial results to maximize sales and productivity.
Drives safety, compliance and store condition management.
Directs Leaders and Team Leaders with daily work and training needs.
