Job summary

S&G Stores in New Hudson, MI is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to support the store manager, help maximize sales, and maintain asset control by following laws and policies.

You will deliver excellent customer service, greet shoppers, process transactions, keep shelves neat, rotate foodservice items, and assist with restocking and safety.

Qualifications

• Retail and customer service experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand for an entire shift and perform physical tasks.

Directly supports the store manager, making sure the store runs efficiently and follows all laws and policies. While also helping to maximize sales and maintain asset control.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service leadership to all customers.
• Acknowledge/Greet all customers that come into the store.
• Ensure that all company policies are being followed.
• Promote and maintains a clean and organized store appearance inside and out.
• Efficiently process both cash and card transactions with integrity.
• Ensure all merchandising and marketing programs are implemented properly. Including maintaining plan-o-gram integrity and appropriate sign placement.
• Ensure foodservice products are fresh and appealing by rotating products appropriately and removing out-of-date products.
• Monitor store activities to ensure that transactions are taking place in the proper manner.
• Respond quickly to all emergencies for the safety and security of customers and employees and notifying the appropriate individuals.
• Unloading trucks for restocking the store.

Requirements

• Retail experience / Customer Service Experience Required
• Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
• Able to frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds.
• Able to stand for an entire shift.
• Ability to periodically handle routine physical task such as climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Comfortable working in intermittent temperatures for short periods of time. e.g., in the store, outside, and in the cooler.
• Available to work carious shifts and days of the week as required by the retail environment, including weekends, evenings, and busy periods/holidays.
