Job summary

S&G Stores in Ohio is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to directly support the store manager and help ensure daily operations run smoothly. You will lead customer service, supervise staff, and safeguard assets while upholding store policies.

The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, well-merchandised environment, handling cash/card transactions with integrity, and ensuring compliance with safety and foodservice standards. Weekend availability required.

• Ensure that all company policies are being followed.
• Promote and maintain a clean and organized store appearance inside and out.
• Efficiently process both cash and card transactions with integrity.
• Ensure all merchandising and marketing programs are implemented properly, maintaining plan‑ogram integrity and appropriate sign placement.
• Ensure foodservice products are fresh and appealing by rotating products appropriately and removing out‑of‑date products.
• Monitor store activities to ensure transactions are taking place in the proper manner.
• Respond quickly to all emergencies for the safety and security of customers and employees, notifying the appropriate individuals.

Requirements

• Retail experience / Customer Service Experience Required.
• Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
• Able to frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds.
• Able to stand for an entire shift.
• Ability to periodically handle routine physical tasks such as climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Comfortable working in intermittent temperatures for short periods of time, e.g., in the store, outside, and in the cooler.
• Available to work various shifts and days of the week as required by the retail environment, including weekends, evenings, and busy periods/holidays.
