Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Customer Service Representative to accurately fulfill customer orders and manage incoming calls. This role operates under close supervision and supports order entry, quotes, and pricing adjustments to maximize gross profit.

Typical responsibilities include organizing orders via phone, fax, email, or in-person, sourcing products, selecting cost-efficient shipping, and maintaining inventory levels.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and 0–3 years of related experience.
• Reliability, organization, and attention to detail are required.
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening.
• Moderate computer skills, including email, business systems, and internet product search.

Responsibilities

• Respond to basic customer inquiries regarding products and provide quotes.
• Handle order entry and place orders via phone, fax, email, or walk-in.
• Influence gross profit by negotiating sale and purchase prices within set parameters.
• Adjust non-contract pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit.
• Build customer relationships to drive repeat business and drive process improvements.
• Order items to maintain appropriate inventory levels for customers.
• Place orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order without approval.
• Source products from branch, DC, or supplier inventory.
• Determine cost-effective shipping methods for customer orders.
• Partner with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Expedite backorders and handle customer returns.
