Qualifications

• Read catalogs, microfiche viewers, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
• Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
• Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money.
• Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
• Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
• Discuss the use and features of various parts, based on knowledge of machines or equipment.
• Measure parts with precision instruments to determine fit and sizes.
• Prepare parts for internal transfer between branches.
• Distribute internal shuttle shipments on incoming parts transfers.

Responsibilities

• Read catalogs or displays to determine stock numbers and prices for replacement parts.
• Receive and fill telephone orders for parts and prepare counter tickets.
• Take payments or secure credit authorizations as needed.
• Assist customers with substitutions when exact replacements are unavailable.
• Inspect and process returned parts, exchanges, or refunds as required.
• Inventory stock and maintain organized storage in stockrooms.
• Explain part options and features based on machine knowledge.
• Prepare parts for inter-branch transfers and manage shuttle shipments.
