Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete deposits, and assist with bank deposits and loss prevention.

The role involves stocking, cashiering, and day-to-day store operations, including scheduling, training, safety, and adherence to company policies. A high school diploma and retail supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage merchandise presentation and planograms.
• Proficiency with cash handling and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; operate register and scanner.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling and training of employees; conduct safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, markdowns, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash control; deposit bank funds.
• Assist in managing store in Store Manager's absence.
