Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervising employees, merchandising, deposits, and ensuring profitability while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include customer service leadership, scheduling, training, planogram execution, inventory control, cashier accountability, and supporting the Store Manager in their absence. Strong communication and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash registers, scanners and basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy adherence.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and deposit procedures; handle refunds and overrides.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
