Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and supervise staff under the Store Manager’s direction. You will handle stocking, cashiering, deposits, and inventory while ensuring profitability and loss prevention.

The role involves opening/closing the store at least two days per week, training employees, enforcing policies, and maintaining planograms. A high school diploma and retail supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displaying.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and cash control practices.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms and product presentation.
• Assist with cashier accountability, deposits, and store security; sign refunds/overrides as needed.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
