Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support a customer-first store, supervise staff, and oversee merchandising, deposits, and paperwork. You will help drive profitability while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, opening/closing the store, training employees, managing stock and planograms, and ensuring cash controls. High school diploma and retail supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and planograms under Store Manager direction.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash controls; process refunds and overrides.
