Job summary

Camden Property Trust is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle service requests for our apartment community. The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and making-readies, with duties spanning groundskeeping, pool maintenance, and preventative care to ensure exceptional resident experiences.

The position requires hands-on maintenance skills, HVAC/plumbing/electrical knowledge, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays. A valid driver’s license and transportation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment industry.
• EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
• Tile work and carpentry skills for make-ready.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays on a rotating on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete service requests in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with the maintenance supervisor and team to prioritize tasks.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, guests, and vendors.
• Identify safety hazards and report or correct them.
• Perform preventative maintenance on community equipment.
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in, including repairs or replacements.
• Ensure upkeep of community appearance by lighting maintenance, painting, and repairs.
• Accurately complete records in Onesite for service requests and preventive maintenance.
• Perform electrical and plumbing work as required.
• Assist with groundskeeping, pool maintenance, housekeeping, notices, and inspections.
