Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a commercially focused Field Applications Scientist to join our Technical Services team. You will work directly with customers, prospective clients, and internal stakeholders to drive adoption, support growth, and ensure customer success with ONT workflows.

This is a field-based role supporting the New England region with frequent travel up to 70%. You will partner with Sales and cross-functional teams to deliver technical guidance, training, and solutions

Qualifications

PhD in Life Sciences preferred or a Master’s with relevant commercial, customer-facing, or scientific experience.
Strong laboratory background in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, sequencing, or related field.
1–2 years of commercial and customer-facing experience.
Experience with bioinformatic workflows for sequencing data analysis.

Responsibilities

Partner with Sales to support commercial opportunities and provide technical expertise throughout the customer lifecycle.
Deliver pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including consultations, workflow discussions, training, and troubleshooting.
Build and maintain strong technical relationships to drive adoption of ONT technologies.
Deliver presentations, workshops, and training to diverse audiences.
Collaborate with Technical Services, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and other teams to meet objectives.
Develop engagement plans for strategic accounts aligned to customer needs.
