Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a vigilant Security Supervisor to oversee custody and safety within our facilities. You will supervise security staff, ensure compliance with policies, and maintain accurate records and daily logs.

GEO Secured Services offers opportunities to lead a team dedicated to orderly operations, effective incident response, and professional interaction with detainees and staff. A high school diploma, supervisory experience, and valid AZ license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience working in a correctional setting, one of which was in a position requiring supervisory capabilities.
• Must have worked an Arizona Department of Corrections security post within the last 2 years
• Must have valid AZ Drivers License
• Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command the respect and confidence of detainees/inmates as well as staff and possess a high tolerance to mental stress.

Responsibilities

• Supervises security/control activities and staff in an assigned area, ensuring maximum facility coordination in prisoner supervision and safety.
• Directs the work of other employees, including hiring, evaluating job performance, training, promotion and discipline.
• Prepares records and reports as assigned by management and maintains daily logs.
• Attends to emergencies and ensures procedures are in place and staff trained in proper implementation.
